Mary Lou Johnson, age 98, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, at Solaris Healthcare in Hudson, Florida. She was born on October 11, 1927, in Hagerstown, Maryland, to Albert and Minnie Simmons.
Mary Lou lived a life defined by quiet strength, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to her family. A woman of gentle spirit and steady presence, she was a constant source of comfort and support to her children and those who loved her.
She had a deep love for reading and enjoyed spending time doing crafts, especially cross stitch, where her creativity and patience shone through. Mary Lou also found joy in her favorite television shows—Friends and her beloved daytime soaps, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. She had an eye for beauty and elegance, always wearing a piece of glamorous jewelry that reflected her warm and graceful personality.
Above all, Mary Lou treasured time spent with her family. Those moments, simple or special, were the heart of her happiness.
Mary Lou is survived by her children: Sandra Williams, Susan Ditursi (Gerry), and Patricia Gonzalez (Leonard); eight grandchildren: Nancy Frye (Eric), Frances Robinson, Lauren MacDade, Jessica MacDade, Vincent Gonzalez, Mitchell Gonzalez (Brooke), Patrick Gonzalez (Brittany), and Christian Gonzalez; seven great grandchildren: Ashley Frye (Matt), Chloe Siojrin (Damien), Jenna Carpenter (Cody), Joshua Williams, Juliette Williams, Evangeline Gonzalez, and Neal Gonzalez; and three great great grandchildren: Illeana Carpenter, Luke Carpenter, and Charlotte Siojrin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Vicki MacDade.
Mary Lou will be remembered for her calm demeanor, her caring nature, and the steady, loving presence she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
