Maria L. Slavin, 88, of Hudson, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, at Solaris Nursing Center, where she was cared for with love and treated like family.
Maria was the devoted wife of Edward Slavin, with whom she shared an extraordinary 68-year marriage—a true partnership filled with love and joy.
Born in Fassberg, Germany, Maria embraced a life of adventure as an Air Force spouse. Together with her husband and children, she traveled extensively, living in Germany, Turkey (twice), and across the United States in North Dakota, Salt Lake City, New York City, and Albuquerque before settling in Florida, where she made her home for the past 30 years.
Maria’s kindness and warmth touched everyone she met. If you knew her, you felt loved—and you loved her in return. She will be deeply missed by her three daughters, Karen, Christine, and Laurel; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and countless others whose lives were brightened by her presence.
