Margaret Mary Pennella's Obituary
Margaret Mary Pennella, age 97 of Tarpon Springs, Florida, peacefully passed away on February 9th, 2026 after a brief stay at Accent Care Hospice in Dunedin, Florida.
She was born in New Rochelle, New York to Anthony and Rocca Nardozzi (Summo). Margaret graduated from New Rochelle High School and briefly worked at the New York Telephone Company (Bell System). She married her husband, Frank Thomas Pennella in 1949, and resided in New Rochelle where they raised their family. Margaret and Frank enjoyed vacationing with friends and family and were usually the first couple on the dance floor at any festive occasion. The couple also owned a vacation home at the Tamiment Resort in the Pocono’s for several years where they made many dear friends. After Frank’s retirement they moved to Hudson, FL in 1996 and built a home there.
Margaret and Frank were members of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hudson, FL for over 25 years. She lived a socially active lifestyle in her retirement and was a regular at a local women’s fitness center. She was also a long-time member of women’s bowling leagues in Hudson.
Throughout her life, Margaret was a loyal and beloved daughter, friend, wife, mother, aunt, great-aunt and grandmother. These were the roles that defined her best and brought her the most joy.
In recent years, Margaret had been a resident of Sunflower Springs Assisted Living (Trinity, FL), and later Magnolia Trails at East Lake Memory Care (Tarpon Springs). As in her earlier life, she easily made friends with residents and staff at these facilities, and enjoyed playing bingo, listening to live music and making crafts.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Frank; three brothers, Dominic Nardozzi (Sue), Daniel Nardozzi (Dina) and Anthony Nardozzi Jr., her niece Carol Nardozzi and her nephew Ronald Nardozzi.
She is survived by her daughter Judith Amorello, (Steve); her son Frank Joseph Pennella; ten grandchildren: Michael (Casey) and Alexander (Jordan) Amorello; and Amber, Tiffany, Gabriella, Angelina, Joseph, Frank, Christopher and Matthew Pennella; and her sister in-law Ann Nardozzi (Fiumara) of New Rochelle, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Accent Care Hospice, 910 New York Avenue, Floor 1, Dunedin, FL. 34698.”
