Margaret H King's Obituary
KING, Margaret H. 94, of New Port Richey, Florida passed away October 26, 2019. Margaret was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Harry and Rose Steckle and grew up in Long Island, NY in a family of four children, with two brothers and one sister.
Margaret was a Registered Nurse who graduated from New York City's three year long Lenox Hill Hospital Nurses' Training Program in 1946. Margaret spent most of her nursing career assisting patients and physicians in their offices.
On May 6, 1950, Margaret married the love of her life, Donald James King and together they raised two children, Dee Jaye and Cord. In 1975, Margaret and her family moved to Battle Creek, Michigan. Margaret and Donald spent many years as snowbirds traveling between Michigan and Florida before settling permanently in Florida in the early 2000's.
Margaret was very involved with her church, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. She enjoyed spending hours crocheting while her favorite game shows played in the background and loved to play cards and Mahjong. She was a very kind and gentle lady who was loved by all her knew her. Margaret is survived by her children, Dee Jaye Little (Martin) and Cord King (Patty); grandchildren Sean Little, Stephanie Hall, Margaret Little, Madeline Betz, and David King; and great-grandchildren Zoey Little, Logan Little, Charlotte Hall, and Grace Hall. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald, in 2007.
A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Monday, November 4th at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Spring Hill followed by interment at Florida National Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the church prior to services, from 11:30 am -12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church or to a charity of one's choice.
