Many fond memories of Uncle Louie and the Sommer family on the farm as a boy growing up. Full life to age 98. Great genes! Wholesome life! Say "Hi" to mom, Uncle Louis.
Blessings and comfort to all of those he cherished and left behind, When God closes one door, he opens up another.

Thinking of the Sommer family today as grandpa is laid to rest! We were so blessed to have been able to spend quality time with him during our visits to Florida. His journey on earth was full and now he is home. We have so many great memories and I can hear his laugh and see him smiling. He sure loved his grandsons and great- grandchildren. Till we see you again!
So many memories of Lewy; where do I start? We took Lewy in the care for him 7 years ago and that began a journey I never thought I would take. I learned how to endure taking on the task of caring for an elderly family member. After one year of being with Lewy we started our homeschool journey as well. This gave us and the girls time to get to know their great grandpa. He would tell them many stories of his life growing up in the Great Depression and fortunate they are today. They never took him for granted and always enjoyed hearing about his life. Grandpa has a fond love for Wendy’s chicken sandwiches lol and a big sweet tooth! He loved playing cards and went to the senior club until he was about 96 years old. His favorite pass time was watching the Rays play baseball on the BIG flatscreen tv he had in his room. He loved his family and spending time with them. We were blessed to have been able to take him back to Michigan to visit family one last time. He may have been a stern man in his earlier years, but as time passed his heart softened and he truly expressed his love for us all. You will be missed grandpa and we will be sure to go to Wendy’s once in a while for ya! Love you always, Spring
🙏♥️Prayers for comfort and peace for the family. I know Grandpa Louie always talked about being ready to go to heaven to be with Elva, I will always have a memory of him sitting at the head of the table ready for his coffee with creamer and his meal☕. Then right after you had to have the pie or dessert ready. He definitely loved his pie.🍰He loved his card game pinochle and hanging with his buddies, he loved to tell stories about him growing up and his life. He would always share the stories about the pictures of him and Elva in their 20's and always talk about his Sons, grandsons and daughter Betty. He always shared how he love to sing in the church choir and you would hear him walking around singing. He loved his fast food burgers and his sports for sure. So blessed he got to spend his time with his family near the end. To get time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. I know they loved him and he will be missed dearly. He's home now with Jesus and Elva. Loved your stories louie. You will be missed for sure. ♥️Love Amber Tyre
