Lawrence Holderfield's Obituary
Lawrence Paul Holderfield of Floral City, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the age of 83. Lawrence was born in Urbandale,Illinois to the late Clarence Taylor Holderfield and Lily Dowdy Holderfield. In 1961, he moved to Cocoa, Florida from Indianapolis, Indiana, and then to Melbourne, Florida in 1967 where he stayed until 1980. In Melbourne, he was a volunteer and member of The Salvation Army. Lawrence returned to Indianapolis in 1980 and spent his winters in Brooksville, Florida where he lived from 1988 to 2006. He spent his final years in Floral City, Florida with his daughter, Cathy. Lawrence was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Thelma C. Holderfield; son, Dennis Paul Holderfield who died in July of '59; and brothers, Otis and Richard Holderfield. He is survived by his six sons, Dave (Pennie) Holderfield, Steve (Phyllis) Holderfield, Danny (Marsha) Holderfield, Ray (Becky) Holderfield, Mark (Gina) Holderfield, and Randy (Heather) Holderfield; two daughters, Lana (Walter) Hamlett, and Cathy (Jim) Southard; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren;one great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Maxine (Don) Pender, June (George) Pender. A Celebratory Dinner will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 12-2pm at The Salvation Army Corps 15464 Cortez Blvd. Brooksville, FL 34613 followed by a Memorial Service at 2pm.
