Some of our memories of Uncle Larry:
--Shortly after we were married in 1978, he took us to our first Japanese restaurant!
--Enjoyed his updates as he "walked" around the world!
--Fun times in their backyard pool in Michigan and Florida!
--Playing "hand and foot" cards around Uncle Larry and Aunt Susie's kitchen table!
--Listening to stories of places he visited and being amazed of his recall of details!
--Hosting the BEST family reunions in Michigan and Florida!
--Appreciating his genuine interest in what was happening in our and our son's lives!
--Enjoying his email notes which could stretch into several pages!
--Driving from St. Pete airport map to Hudson with a detailed map he made that would be Rand McNally to shame!
We always appreciated how he treated Aunt Susie like a queen and best friend! After a visit, we just always felt better after being in his presence!
We love and will miss you Uncle Larry!

Thank you dad for bringing me into this world and caring for me when I was a child.
Thank you dad for always attending any sporting event I participated in growing up.
Thank you dad for providing a wonderful home environment for me along with mom, Bill, Nancy and Debbie.
Thank you dad for giving me direction and assisting me when I graduated from college and pursued my first professional job.
Thank you dad for accepting Louise as my wife and treating her like she was your own for all these years.
Thank you dad for being a role model that I could always look up to.
Thank you dad for initiating and coordinating family events. It won’t be the same without you in your seat at the head of the table for family dinners each holiday.
Thank you dad for all the vacations you've taken the entire family on. Trips to Mexico, several cruises, a trip to Spain and just last year a family vacation at Disney World. Those trips were some of the best times of my life.
Thank you dad for being a wonderful grandfather to Daniel and all the joy that you have brought to him. He always looked forward to hearing stories from you about life experiences.
Thank you dad for your compassion and generosity which goes much beyond what most people really know.
Thank you dad for being the caregiver for mom from the time she was diagnosed with cancer 11 years ago to the day you passed. Debbie, Nancy and I will now assume that role and we will do our very best.
Thank you dad for just being the best dad anyone could ever have.

Back in the day - the 70's to be exact, Mr. Barret would occasionally go out with Debbie and I. I will always remember watching him dance with Debbie to "Jeremiah was a Bullfrog!" He was a great sport and loved his children so much. Although, I've only seen him once in the last several years, I miss him very much!
We were blessed to have spent a little bit of time with Larry in the last few years, mostly at parties with Debbie, Don, Nancy, and Brian. What a treasure he was, even in these brief encounters. He was so full of interest in others and just a wonderful and loving man. We are so sorry for your loss, and so blessed to have known him. To Larry Barrett, who I always called Mr. Barrett out of pure respect. You were the Patriarch of Grange Road. I loved how my Dad and you would bet each year who was to win in the OSU vs. MI football games. I loved how you wouldn't bat an eye to take us punks on in a basketball game in your back yard. My all time memory is how you handled us when you drove up and saw a bunch of us "young men" diving/jumping off of your garage into your in-ground pool. I would have gone ballistic, but you handled us with love. You will be missed, but I know Jesus took one of his best home.
