Laurena " Laurie" Belle Kuhn's Obituary
Laurena “Laurie” Belle Kuhn, age 66, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, May 25, 2025. A woman of boundless creativity and courage, Laurie was a devoted and faithful wife. Her loyalty, tenacity, and humor truly defined her spirit. She was known for her laughter and incredible ability to turn the simplest materials into something beautiful and meaningful. She had a passion for creating, whether it was crafting, sewing, crocheting, designing intricate Christmas stockings, Halloween costumes, tiny hats for NICU babies, or baking stunning wedding and birthday cakes. She poured love and care into everything she made.
She held a deep love for animals of all kinds and was the neighborhood go-to for any weak, wounded, discarded, or sick creature. She loved the outdoors and camping, and she counted the days to get her free (retirement) fishing license. A true prize in her eyes. She was a picky lover of all things sweet and tasty. Laurie could never leave the house without being approached by someone wanting to tell her their whole life story. It was both a gift and a curse.
She was fierce in her convictions and could be relied on for any adventure, at any time, promising some yeehaw or excitement. Throughout her life she feared nothing and no one. She was never one to hold back her thoughts. She wore her truth on her sleeve for all to see, and you would never have to guess her intentions. She was raw, unbridled, and pure in a way that most people are not.
Laurie is survived by her husband, Peter Kuhn; daughter, Ryann Bruno and son in law Steven Bruno; son, Chase Huff; granddaughter, Daynia Raven Huff; two great-grandchildren, Freyja Wren Cash and Rayna Robin Gaier; brother, John Murphy; sisters, Sharon Baker and Johanna Funk, and nieces and nephews across the country. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Betty Murphy, and brother David Murphy.
Laurie’s legacy of love, loyalty, laughter, and creativity will live on in the gifts she shared and in the hearts of all who knew her.
Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
