Larry Joseph Scott's Obituary
Larry Joseph Scott, a proud veteran, devoted family man, and lifelong New England sports enthusiast, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, at Gulfside Hospice. He was 82 years old.
Born on July 10, 1942, Larry was the beloved son of the late Morris H. Scott and Anne Sue Scott. He dedicated twenty-eight years of honorable service to his country in the United States Army and Rhode Island National Guard. His commitment to service and country was a defining part of his life. He was a life member of VFW Post 4412 where he continued the comradery of military life with other veterans and their families.
Larry’s love for all things New England—especially its sports teams—was well known among family and friends. Whether cheering on the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, or Bruins, he brought the same passion and loyalty that he showed in every aspect of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty years, Sherry Scott; his son, Larry Scott, and daughter-in-law, Laura; stepchildren, Alicia Dickinson and Taylor St. Amant; granddaughters, Erin Scott, Londyn Desormo, Karleigh Lilly, and Madyson Lilly. He also leaves behind his cherished niece, Melissa Scott.
Larry was preceded in death by his brother, William Morris Scott.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on June 28th, 2025 from 1pm to 4pm at the
VFW 4412, 9734 Dick St, Hudson, FL 34669
