I met Kathleen and Bob Nicol in 1967 when my mother (Nora Flannery) came to visit us in New York. Nora and Kathleen had remained friends from when my mother married and moved to Beltra.
Kathleen left Beltra when she a young teenager after both her parents had passed away. She first went to England and they emigrated to New York. She met and married her darling husband Bob and they lived in the Hamptons, on Long Island. They invited me to their beautiful home many times and we had lovely times together during the years I lived in New York.
Later they moved to Spring Hill, Florida and because my husband and I had moved to Tampa we were again able to visit with them at their lovely home. I had visited a few times when I would go to Florida after our move to Atlanta.
It was always a nice visit with both of them, Kathleen was a wonderful cook and was a great entertainer.
When Bob got sick Kathleen was his caregiver until he passed away. She was devoted to him. They were a great couple together.
I loved them both and am sad to find Kathleen has now passed away and is with her Bob in Heaven. May God Rest them both.
My deepest sympathy to all her family in Castlebar and England.
