Karen Andrea Hogan's Obituary
Karen Andrea Hogan, 82, of Hudson, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Bayonet Point Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Theodore “Ted” Hogan, with whom she shared 42 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Boca Raton, Florida, Karen was the daughter of the late James and Thelma Caesar. Her father, a professor of violin at Wichita State University and first chair in the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, passed on his love of music by teaching Karen to play the violin.
Karen was a lifelong educator, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching, a Master's Degree in Education, and a Master's Degree in Building Supervision. Her passion for teaching spanned 35 years and took her across the United States, including California, Connecticut, New York, and Kansas. She spent her final decade in education working with gifted children, nurturing the minds of those who were exceptionally bright for their age.
In her younger years, Karen had a love for travel and explored England, Hong Kong, and the coast of Japan. Later in life, she found joy in gardening, walking, shopping, and discovering new restaurants.
Karen had a deep love for animals and cared for many over the years, including horses, cats, and especially poodles—her favorite breed. Her warmth, kindness, and sense of humor made her a friend to everyone she met. She was known for her gentle spirit and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ted Hogan; her brother, Jim Caesar; her stepson, George Hogan (Christine); her stepdaughter, Jo Ann Torregrosa (Dominic); and her cherished step-grandchildren: Kayla, Coleman, Jack, and Danny. She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Rick Caesar and Bill Caesar.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Pasco County, honoring Karen’s lifelong love for animals.
