Josephine Virginia Naused's Obituary
Josephine Virginia Naused also known as Nana or Jay, passed away on March 30, 2023 at Windsor Woods Rehab and Healthcare Center. She was 97 years and five months and eight days old. She was born in Brooklyn, New York in October 1925. Jay and her husband Harry moved to Florida in 1973. She was the life of every gathering and loved by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harry, her granddaughter Heather, Granddaughter Dawn great granddaughter Haley and two daughters in law's Ellen and Susan. She was the last surviving of eleven brothers and sisters.
Jay is survived by her son Harry, his son Harry and his son's Trent, Alex and Aedan. Her son Roger, his wife Cheryl and daughters Christine, her husband Ken and her three children, Amber, Jordan, Parker and great great-grandson Jackson. Kaitlyn her great granddaughter, and Mandy and her husband Brian and her four daughters Megan, Chloe, Emma, Olivia and great great-granddaughter Marlee.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm Saturday, April 8, 20223 at Grace Memorial Funeral Home at 16931 US 19 North, Hudson, Florida, 34667 Phone number 727-863-5471 with her burial in the Grace Memorial Gardens right behind the Funeral home. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00pm Saturday at the funeral Home.
Jay had found enjoyment in keeping her homes spotless and well decorated. Jay loved her animals and treated them like family, she had a brother in law named Andy that used to say "When I die, I want to come back as an animal in Jays house"
When she was 20 months old, she won the Brooklyn Journals cutest baby contest. When the county upgraded street names and maps, she was outside working on her yard and was the name was Debbie Lane and the county employee spoke with her and named the street after her as Josie Lane. She loved baking and making candy and would call her works Nana's No No Nosh. She was also good at writing poems for others and had some published in the National Library of Poetry in the book "Spirt of the Age" her favorite was the "The Loss of a Husband" She has been known for saying "One Should Be Believing and Live One Day at a Time, Listen, To People And Always Take Time To Help If She Can"
