Joseph Michael Simas' Obituary
Joseph Michael Simas, age 81, passed away on April 15, 2026, at his residence in New Port Richey, Florida.
Joseph was born on April 21, 1944, in Warwick, Rhode Island, to the late Emanuel Simas and Myrtle Simas (née Cherry).
He shared 60 loving years of marriage with his wife, Kathleen Simas, building a life rooted in family, hard work, and loyalty.
Joseph worked for 21 years as a golf cart repairman at Seven Springs Golf Club, where he was known for his reliability, mechanical skill, and straightforward nature. Outside of work, he enjoyed working on cars, playing the guitar, and spending time with his friends and family—activities that brought him both joy and connection.
Joseph will be remembered as a good man—honest, loving, and firm in his beliefs. He loved deeply and believed in “tough love” when it came to guiding and supporting those he cared about.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Simas; five children, Dawn, Joseph Jr., Emanuel, Theresa, and Margaret; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of pride in his life.
