Joseph M. Pistilli's Obituary
Joseph M. Pistilli, of Staten Island, NY and Spring Hill, Florida, passed away at the age of 79 on February 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Joe spent more than 25 years as an electrician with the NYCTA, a job he took pride in and approached with the same steady reliability he brought to everything in his life. He was the kind of man who could fix just about anything, always ready with a tool in his hand and a solution in his mind. Joe also worked a ‘retirement job’ in Florida as a school bus driver, where his students affectionately called him “Mr. J”.
Outside of work, Joe loved being near the water and soaking up the sunshine. Whether he was relaxing in the pool or spending a day at the beach, those simple, sunny moments were some of his happiest. He also loved traveling with his wife Judy to places like Vero Beach, Dollywood, and the Great Smoky Mountains. Spending time with his family, who were truly the center of his world, was one of his favorite things.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Judith, his son Robert, his daughters Naydene and Tracey and his brother James. Joe was also a proud grandfather to Emma, Tori, and Sage, who brought him endless joy.
Joe will be remembered for his easygoing nature, his willingness to help anyone who needed it, and his vigor for living life to the fullest. His family will carry his memory, his compassion, and his love with them always.
“Dad: a son’s first hero, a daughter’s first love.”
