JOSEPH J McGRANE, a loving husband, cherished Uncle and faithful friend passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026 at Vitality Living facility in Port Richey, Florida. Born on July 7, 1931 to his parents Dorothy and Albert, he grew up in the Sheepshead Bay area of Brooklyn with 7 siblings.
Joe was a Navy Veteran and graduated St Francis College in Brooklyn, having attended for 8 years while also working as an Accountant for Columbia pictures.
Married to the late Frances Casella McGrane for over 40 years, they relocated from Lynbrook New York to Port Richey Florida in 1981.
A man of faith, Joseph was a member of St James the Apostle Church, and volunteered in recent years at St Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. He was a member of the Elks' Club and the Pasco Long Island Club.
Joe enjoyed golf, traveling, photography, collecting cameras and fine watches, reading, Alfred Hitchcock movies and Notre Dame football. He was also a smart phone buff.
Known for his quick wit, Joe had the ability to bring smiles to those around him, responding to those who wished him a good day, "you have a better one." His caring nature evidenced when he risked getting Covid by bringing daily breakfasts to friend Mary. He did "not want her to be alone."
