Jonas Figueroa's Obituary
Jonas Figueroa, a devoted husband, father, and veteran, passed away on August 21, 2025, to be with his beloved wife Maria, on their 61st wedding anniversary. He died peacefully at HPH Hospice in Brooksville, Florida, surrounded by the memories of a lifetime of love and adventure.
Born on September 22, 1941, in Manati, Puerto Rico, Jonas lived a life filled with passion and dedication. While serving in the US Army at Ft. Lewis in Washington state, he met Maria and they became lifelong partners. They settled in the small town of Steilacoom, WA, where Jonas worked for Olympia Cheese Company for 32 years.
Dancing was Jonas's true passion, a joy he cherished since childhood. He and Maria shared countless moments on and off the dance floor, traveling the world with family and friends. After retiring, they explored new destinations on cruise ships, creating unforgettable memories.
In 2003, they made Spring Hill, Florida, their new home, where Jonas delighted in gardening and exploring the Sunshine State. He was a longtime member of the Elks and American German Club, enjoying community and camaraderie with fellow members.
Jonas is preceded in death by his wife Maria, yet their love will continue to inspire those who knew them. He is survived by his son, Jonas Figueroa Jr., and his wife, Hope; brother, Felix Figueroa; sister, Linda Beauchesne (Robert); sister-in-law, Sylvia Figueroa; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will deeply miss him.
Jonas's legacy is one of enduring love, family, and the joy of living life to the fullest. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
