John Stewart Hoch's Obituary
John Stewart Hoch, age 80, of Spring Hill, Florida died unexpectedly Saturday, October 21, 2023. John was born on February 7, 1943 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the oldest of three boys born to John and Amy Hoch.
John graduated from South High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1962. He received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 1966 and his Master of Business Administration in 1967 from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan. John worked 31 years for The Dow Chemical Company, in several departments and several locations. He retired in 2000 and moved with his wife, Cathy Walter, to Manistee, Michigan where he enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting. He was very involved in the community, serving on various Boards. John and Cathy moved full time to Spring Hill, Florida in 2018 where he enjoyed full time golfing. He loved his neighbors and their nightly happy hour.
John was a member of Forest Oaks Lutheran Church in Spring Hill, Florida.
Surviving John is his wife Cathy, his daughter Jennifer Jordal (Tim), granddaughters Emilee and Karlee, his son Jeffrey Hoch (Lynelle), grandsons Ryan, Benjamin, Michael and granddaughter Katelynn. Also surviving John is his grandson Torin and his brothers Bruce Hoch (Alice) and Charles Hoch (Ruth) and their families.
