John Paul Hite's Obituary
Hite, John Paul, 73, of Weeki-Wachee, Fl died April,14th, at Hernando Hospice Care Center . He was born in Nashville TN and moved to Weeki Wachee in 1980 from Clearwater, where he was a resident since 1947. John was a retired Lieutenant from the Clearwater Fire Dept. (1958-1980). He was also a licensed contractor and real estate agent. John loved America as well as a member of the US Naval Reserves (1956-1962). John was a scuba diver as well as a licensed Multi engine pilot. Memberships include: Elks lodge #2829, Eagles aerie lodge #4372,; Moose lodge #521, and the First Hernando Republican Club. John was a talented musician and played guitar, fiddle, banjo, and many other instruments. He enjoyed all music but especially blue grass , western, and gospel. He was a founding member of the Soggy Bottom Bluegrass Bunch. Since 2001 he has entertained many with his loving companion Donna Walker. Survivors include: 2 brothers; James D. Hite of Franklin, NC and Charles E. Hite of Clearwater, FL; 1 sister Rebecca (Tom) Knippel of Ocala, Fl., and several nieces and nephews including Connie Hite, of Clearwater. A Celebration of John's life with a gathering of friends and family, will be held at the Weeki Wachee Area Club at 7442 Shoal Line Blvd. at 4pm, April, 24, 2010 with a Memorial Service at 5pm.
