John Anthony Drenchek's Obituary
John A. Drenchek, of Hudson, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose gentle spirit and unwavering love for his family will be forever remembered.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Drenchek, with whom he was just days away from celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on November 28th. He is also survived by his daughter Jennifer Drenchek-Cristiano and son-in-law Robert Cristiano; his son Dan Drenchek; and his cherished grandchildren Gianna Cristiano, Ava Cristiano, Elijah Drenchek, and Cole Drenchek. He leaves behind nieces and nephews David Brown, Alexis McLeod, Tina Pasvanis, and Chris Pasvanis, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
John was predeceased by his three sisters, Lillian Brown, Goldie Pasvanis, and Katherine Drenchek, as well as his niece Cindy Kuzma and nephew Dennis Brown.
John proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he saw active combat during the Vietnam War. His service was marked by courage, dedication, and deep loyalty to his fellow soldiers. The experiences he carried from his time in Vietnam shaped him profoundly, and he remained forever proud of his military service and his commitment to defending his country.
After completing his service, John spent his career working for Scotts ProTurf Fertilizer in Western New York, a job he deeply loved. He took great pride in helping golf courses and stadiums achieve the lush, beautiful turf they were known for, and he carried that same passion for perfect lawns and gardens into his own home. His green thumb was well known, and his yard was always a reflection of the dedication and pride he poured into everything he did.
Family was at the heart of John’s life. He cherished watching his granddaughter Gianna perform, and her visits to sing for him and the other residents at his assisted living facility brought him tremendous joy. He believed in all his grandchildren wholeheartedly and supported their dreams with genuine pride and love.
A man who appreciated the simple joys of life, John adored his wife Nancy and always bragged that she was the best cook in the world. He loved sweets of every kind, especially cookies, popsicles, and ice cream. He enjoyed music and could often be heard singing along to the oldies in the car, turning everyday moments into memories filled with warmth and laughter.
John and Nancy shared a beautiful life together, filled with travel, adventures, and countless cruises around the world.
He will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family. John leaves behind a legacy of love, pride, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
