Joan A. Ardizzoni's Obituary
Joan Ardizzoni was surrounded by loved ones when she passed away at her home in Spring Hill, Florida on March 16, 2024.
Born in New York City in 1935 to Thomas and Augusta Barbieri, Joan spent much of her childhood and early adulthood in Agawam, Massachusetts.
As a beloved member of an extensive family, Joan leaves behind her husband of 52 years Robert C. Ardizzoni; her sister Helen Bodurtha (and her husband Kent); her children Donna Pearson (and husband Alan); Robert A. Ardizzoni (and wife Laurie); Teresa Lake; Thomas Ardizzoni (and wife Sandi); and stepchildren Tracy Lentz (and husband Mike); and Scott Whitmill (and wife Kim). She also leaves 13 grandchildren and their spouses and partners (who she claimed as her own), 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and many other cherished relatives and friends. She has been looking forward to once again seeing her grandson Vincent who has been waiting for her arrival in Heaven.
Joan was known for her fun and outgoing personality and was always happiest when spending time with friends and loved ones. Her commitment to her faith was evidenced by her years of service, particularly during her volunteer work at St. Cecilia’s Church in Wilbraham Massachusetts, and by her nightly prayers for all she loved. Those who were lucky enough to know her would agree that the world was a better place when she was in it.
A service to honor Joan will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Grace Memorial Gardens located at 16931 Hwy 19 in Hudson, Florida 34667. Guests will be invited to share memories and reflect on her remarkable life if they so choose. For those who are unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed. A special link will be posted several days in advance for individuals who wish to attend on-line.
In her final weeks and months, Joan was able to talk with many of her loved ones individually and often expressed how blessed she was for having such a long and love-filled life here on earth. She was truly at peace and let everyone know she was ready to move on when God called.
Joan will be profoundly missed by those she left behind each and every day, but her impact on this earth will be felt for many years to come.
