Joan Hannah Anderson's Obituary
Joan Hannah Anderson, 75, of Brooksville, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 2, 2023, surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer.
She was born July 29, 1947, in Charlotte, NC. In 2013, she relocated to Brooksville from Sanford, NC.
Joan retired from the Sanford, NC, police department where she was a dedicated member and secretary to the chief of police for 34 years.
During her lifetime, Joan enjoyed ballroom dancing, watching movies, motorcycle riding, gardening and sipping coffee on the lanai while bird watching. She was an avid baker and was always trying new recipes. She also won numerous blue ribbons at the NC State Fair for her biscuits.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Cornelius and Margaret Nash Hannah; a half-sister, Nancy Hannah; and her stepmother, Ruth Hannah.
Survivors include: her Loving husband, Gerald Anderson; a son, Brad Barnhardt (Sue); a daughter, Crystal Barnhardt; and a half-sister, Kathy Anderson. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date, in Charlotte, NC.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Hudson, FL.
