Jeanette Higginson's Obituary
Jeanette Higginson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, at the Marliere Care Center. She was 95.
Jeanette was known for her sweet spirit, caring nature, and her gift for listening with genuine compassion. Her warmth touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A talented artist, Jeanette, found joy in painting serene landscapes that reflected her love of nature. She also had a green thumb and spent countless hours tending to her garden. Her passion for collecting was evident in her cherished collection of Fenton Glass, which brought her great delight over the years.
She is survived by her loving family: her son, Richard Whitaker and his wife Patricia; her daughter, Colleen Smith and her husband Eric; her grandchildren, Eric Lee Smith, Rachel Grannan, and Elizabeth Whitaker; and her great-grandchildren, Kaylee Ann Smith and Alexander Whitaker.
A memorial service to celebrate Jeanette’s life will be announced at a later date.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love and light she brought into the lives of those around her.
