James G. Pridemore's Obituary
James G. Pridemore, 87, of Port Richey, FL passed away Thursday, November 26th. James, “Jim or Papaw,” was born in Middleboro, KY on May 25, 1928 to Cora Rose and John Pridemore. He retired, after serving twenty-two years, as Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army in 1968. James received The Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service in 1968 and a Lifetime Member of The First Brigade “Forerunners” First Armored Division “Old Ironsides.” James was a prison correction officer and food manager at Lebanon Correctional Institution. He also worked for Century 21 for many years. James was preceded in death by five brothers, Jack Pridemore, Ralph Pridemore, Bill Pridemore, Tom Pridemore, and Harold Pridemore, one sister, Ruby Bush, and one daughter, Mona Lisa Froman. Survivors include his loving wife Dora Pridemore, one sister, Betty Vogt, one daughter, Judith (Gus) Basso, five grandchildren, Delain (Robin) Combs, Jerry Combs, Gina (Terry) Bessenbacher, Khym Johnson, and Stefan Alderson. Seven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 1st, 2015 at Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 16931 U.S. Highway 19 North, Hudson, FL, 34667, (727) 863-5471 from 11am-1pm. Interment will follow.
