Hicks, James Richard's Obituary
JAMES R. HICKS
It is with great sadness, that we share with you the loss of our wonderful husband, father, uncle, friend and Pastor, Jim Hicks.
After a long journey of six years fighting “vascular dementia/Parkinson’s”, he went home to be with his loving Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 25th, 2025 in his family home in Florida, with his wife and son at his side.
Pastor Jim (81 years old) was born in Lowell, Massachusetts and resided in Woburn, MA before moving to Florida. He pastored “The Church of the Living God” for 45 years and was known for his goodness and his desire to lead people to Christ. He fondly ministered to each and every person that ever became part of his life.
He enjoyed: praying, reading his Bible, helping others and an occasional trip to a local restaurant or car show.
He leaves behind, his adoring wife, Susan (Stockbridge) of 54 years and his devoted and loving son, “J.J.” who was his dedicated caregiver for six years. He also leaves two daughters, Alayne who resides in Texas and Leah who resides in Florida along with five grandchildren. In addition to his “immediate family”, he was especially fond of, and close to his two nieces “Jalyn” and “Noelle” who brought great love and devotion to him. Their children were the joy of his life in his later years. Pastor Jim has one sister, Nancy who resides in New Hampshire with her husband, Mark. He also leaves behind brother and sister in-laws along with many nieces and nephews from his wife’s side, who he greatly loved.
Pastor Jim (aka Jimmy) will be forever missed, and he will be waiting for us on the other side.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held in Woburn, MA on Sunday, December 28th, 2025.
“Well done, my faithful servant.”
