We are so very sorry for your loss. Helen was a beautiful woman and had a wonderful spirit and sense of famiy. She had a special way about her, making all feel welcome. I (Stef) recall meeting her at a picnic on Papoose Path. We both enjoyed spending some time as "early birds" dining with them in Florida. Bob lovingly staes that "I guess she did not win the Lotto "... because she always promised Bob a new truck and he does not have one! Allow special memories help you through difficult times. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Helene, Paul and Chris-

I am so sorry to read of your mom/grandma's passing. I believe I met her once or twice, long ago, when we were in the throes of early teaching. She reminds me of you, Helene, in looks and smile. I'm sure she was the light of many lives (as evidenced by the story about the salad!!). Keeping you in prayer and white light as you move forward in your healing. I will always remember Helen (Mom), being extraordinarily attentive to the needs of her family.

The first time (one of many) that I joined the Bartkowski family for dinner, I watched as she jumped up from the table, and her hot meal in front of her, to immediately answer Eddie's request to, "Make me a salad."

I laughing told her I'd be glad to beat him up for her (okay, I was MUCH younger then), unless he put the word "please" in front of that request. She laughed. I laughed. Pop laughed. As did Al and Eddie. And then proceeded to make him a salad.

It became a wonderful private joke with her.

Make me a salad, Helen. The day I join you in heaven for eternity, I will enjoy every mouthful.
