Harry George Farmlett's Obituary
Harry George Farmlett, 83, of New Port Richey, Fl. passed away Jan. 12, 2016 at home while under the care of his family and HPH Hospice. A native of Hempstead, NY born to Harry and Erna, and raised by Marcheon and Mae after his mother passed away shortly after his birth. Harry Farmlett is a graduate of Pratt Institute where he studied under Alexander Kostellow, Rowena Reed, Victor Canzanni and Robert Kolhe and earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design (1954). He was a Catholic and served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1955-1957. After his Army service He went on to complete graduate work in painting and sculpture at Carnegie Institute in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania as well as studies in film making at The School of Visual Arts in New York. After gaining experience in design by working with several manufacturing companies, including GM, Grumman and Gorham Silver Company. Harry, with his partner, Tony Barsanti opened their own design firm in Manhattan in 1966. As Farmlett, Barsanti, Inc., the company created marketing materials for the publishing, (Popular Science) Toy, (Buddy L and Ideal Toy), and recording, ( London Records, ABC Paramount) industries. After 25 years in business, Harry and Tony closed the company. Mr. and Mrs. Farmlett moved to Florida in the following year to care for their parents residing there. It is at that point that Harry began “playing”. Harry’s work has been shown at The State House in Tallahassee, Fl., The Nagoya Art Waves Festival in Nagoya City, Japan, Pasco-Hernando Community College in New Port Richey, FL., The New Port Richey Art Gallery, New Port Richey, Fl.: Pasco Arts Council, Holiday, FL. And The West Pasco Art Guild, New Port Richey, Fl. He has also held solo exhibitions at Tarpon Springs Cultural Center, Tarpon Springs, FL. and The Pasco Arts Council, Holiday, FL .
Harry was preceded in death by his first wife of over 50 years Joan who passed in 2013. He later met and married Patricia Anne (McMahan) Farmlett, other survivors include his cousins, Edward Farmlett, M.D. his wife Mary Jane and their child Christopher, Frank Farmlett and his wife Kathryn; adopted son, Cory Floyd; sister in-law, Beth Perdue; special friend Al De Lorenzo and his wife Marilyn; and never to be forgotten his faithful companion “Chloe” his long haired dachshund he love so much.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Sunday 2:00 PM at Grace Memorial Funeral Home, the family will receive friends at 1:00 PM
