Gloria Bahr George's Obituary
Gloria Bahr George passed peacefully into Heaven on Saturday, August 10, 2024, in the 87th
year of her life, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 30, 1936, in Highland Park,
Illinois, to Tanis Greer Bahr and Hans Hugo Bahr, Gloria lived a life filled with love, family, and
friends.
Gloria was the beloved mother of five children: sons Scott George (Melissa), Christopher George
(Sharen), Joseph George (preceded her in death), and daughters Laura Beard (Galand) and
Kimberly Clark (Michael). She took great pride in her seven grandchildren: Elizabeth George
(Arthur), Kevin George (Brandi), Drew George (Lehne), Dori Schwartzman (Jack), Samantha
Johnson (Steve), Kellie Lee (Douglas), Kyle Clark (Deserae), and her ten great-grandchildren,
ranging in ages from 1 1/2 to 18 years old. Her family was the center of her world, and she
cherished every moment spent with them.
Gloria leaves behind her beloved fiancée, Dr. Paul Goldenfarb, with whom she shared joy and
love in Brooksville, Florida. Their time together was filled with lots of laughter, happiness and
deep affection.
Gloria was a devoted wife to Robert S. George (preceded her in death), her high school
sweetheart, with whom she shared over 30 years of marriage. She is also preceded in death by
her sister, Barbara Bahr Montgomery. She is survived by her sister, Tanis Bahr Jester (Alan),
with whom she shared a close and loving bond.
In her professional journey, Gloria embarked on a successful career in real estate, working in
Louisiana and Mississippi before moving to Florida to be closer to her mother, daughters, and
sister. In Florida, Gloria found her true calling at the Morton Plant Hospital complex in
Clearwater, where she dedicated herself to helping patients with warmth and compassion.
Always a people person, Gloria’s cheerful nature and love for life touched the hearts of everyone
she met.
Gloria’s spirit, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy lives
on with the family she adored and the many lives she touched
