George N. Hatzis' Obituary
George Naoum Hatzis, 90, of Port Richey, FL. passed away December 29, 2016. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 10am at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 9426 Little Rd, New Port Richey, FL 34654. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday evening from 5 – 7 pm. A native of Kastoria, Greece where he served in the Greek Army, he came to the area in 1980 from Astoria, NY after he retired as a Furrier. George was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church and it was his passion to support his church and the Greek community where he volunteered his time to many things including being the Past Treasurer of the Greek Independence Day Parade Committee. He also enjoyed watch soccer matches and traveling. Survivors include his wife, Alexis; daughter Georgette R. Hatzis; sister, Alexandra Lazides; 2 grandchildren, Maria and Georgia; 1 great-grandchild; step-son, Gregory Vlaikos; step-daughter, Afroditi Rodriguez; 4 step-grandchildren, George, Alex, Marcos and Adelina. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 9426 Little Rd, New Port Richey, FL 34654 in memory of George.
