Celebrating the Life of Freda E Johnson
December 15th, 1933 - February 27th, 2026
Today we celebrate the beautiful life of Freda E Johnson, born in Perkins, Iowa on December 15th, 1933, who passed away at home in Spring Hill, Florida on February 27th, 2026. Her 92 years were marked by determination, kindness, organization, compassion, and hard work.
Freda poured that energy into a fulfilling 30-year career as a baker at Sunshine Bakery. Her organized approach and compassionate heart came through in every loaf she shaped with care. The bakery became a second home, and her dedication there remains a proud family story.
Outside work, travel called to her, especially the open road in her camper trailer. She was particularly exacting about her puzzles, pausing only when every piece was in its rightful place. In recent years she delighted in being her daughter Linda’s sidekick, sharing many hours together.
Freda’s memory lives on through her daughter Linda Hoven (Ken), and her sons Ronald Dale Johnson (Joetta) and Timothy Richard Johnson (Debbie). She also leaves granddaughters Rachel, Dara, and Amy; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a niece and nine nephews. She is reunited with her husband Dale Johnson, sisters Harriet Lyons and Arlene Crittenden, and brothers Darryle Westra and James Westra, Jr.
Whether savoring fresh bread, mapping out a trip, or celebrating a finished puzzle, Freda showed that simple moments can shine brightly. We honor a life that joined determination with kindness and hard work with compassion. Family and friends now gather to celebrate her beautiful journey and to keep her joyful spirit moving forward.
