Pierre and I just found out that Gene has passed away. We send our deepest condolences. You and Gene were sweet wonderful neighbors and very generous in greeting us when we bought our property. The last time I saw Gene, he helped me get my bicycle back home after it lost the chain. He was well respected in our neighborhood.

I have great memories of our times together, particularly Strasbourg and crossing Europe Bridge into Germany. Do you remember the fun we had in the restaurant when I tried to use my very limited German? I asked the waitress for "kartoffel" as I wanted boiled potatoes and not chips, all to no avail I still got the French fries!

Gene and my dad were best friends when I was a young teen. Best man at Gene and Unas wedding, I always felt like he was the little brother my dad always wanted. I have so many happy memories of the two of these guys laughing and being silly that I can’t help but feel they’re together again and whooping it up in heaven

Very sad to hear of the death of Gene. He was a wonderful husband to my sister Una, children Karin and Eugene, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I want to extend sincere sympathy to all. Gene was a very generous host whenever I visited them in Florida. May his soul Rest in Peace.
Larry and I have known Gene for almost 40 years. We spent many happy times with Una an Gene in Queens and Upstate New York. We enjoyed some wonderful holidays together. When Gene cooked center cut roast pork, beef goulash or standing rib roast it was a culinary delight. Gene could cook or tell a joke as well as anyone. In later years we would visit in Florida and enjoyed going out to eat together and catching up on old times.
Una loved Gene and was a dedicated wife to the end. He will be greatly missed. God speed Gene.
