Ernest Velez Jr.'s Obituary
Ernest Velez Jr., age 56, originally from Brooklyn, New York, entered into eternal rest on April 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. While our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
Ernest was a skilled elevator and escalator mechanic by trade, and he approached his work with dedication, humility, and pride. Outside of work, he found joy in the moments that mattered most, especially playing racquetball with family and friends and spending meaningful time with those he loved. He had a warm spirit and a loving presence that made people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for.
He was a devoted and faithful husband to his beloved wife, Nelly, for 38 years. Together, they built a life centered on love, commitment, and family. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to enduring partnership, and through the years they created a home filled with strength, laughter, and love. Ernest was also a proud and loving father to his three children, Ernest, Melina, and Zachary, who were among his greatest blessings.
Ernest was a deeply cherished grandfather to Jeremiah, Amaya, Ernest, and Talia. His grandchildren brought immense joy to his life, and he treasured the time he spent with them. The love he poured into his family reflected the heart of a man who understood the gift of love and the blessing of legacy.
He was also a devoted son to his mother, Elsie, and his father, Ernest Sr., and a loving brother to his sisters, Maggie and Tanya. He valued family deeply and leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, kindness, and unwavering love.
Though we mourn his passing, we do not grieve without hope. We trust in God’s promise of eternal life and find peace in knowing that Ernest’s life does not end here. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, and his legacy will continue through the family he cherished so deeply. We thank God for the years we were blessed to have with him and for the love he gave so freely.
Ernest will be remembered as a truly loving man whose warmth, strength, and integrity left a lasting impression on everyone he met. May the Lord comfort all who mourn him and carry his family through this season with His peace, grace, and unfailing love.
