Miss you Dad
As we celebrate our father's life I feel an overwhelming sadness for losing him and at the same time, a feeling of joy and peace knowing he is reunited with our Mom and they are free of any sicknesses that took them from this world. Just looking at the pictures of our family I realize that we were truly blessed to have such a loving Father, Grandfather and friend. Our Father and Mother loved and cared for us unconditionally . His memory now lives inside each and every one of us who knew him. Just thinking about them brings a smile and a tear to my face. Growing up we never realized just how blessed our family was, and as I think of all the family vacations every year and picnics at the beaches every summer I know many families never had it as good as my sister's, brother and I did. Dad worked 2 and 3 jobs to support us and never complained. He thrived on it. He is truly one in a million. I remember after pulling a double shift at Western Union international he'd come home in the morning and say "Fran" pack a lunch, let's go to the beach ! He lived life to the fullest as we see in all the videos and pictures he took. And now we'll lay this wonderful man and awesome Father to rest next to our mother knowing we will meet again, in another place and be together again for all eternity. I'd like to think that when his time came, our Mother came when no one was around and woke Dad saying, Ernie, it's time, let's go. He looked up at her, kissed her and said Jeeeeshhhh.... what took you so long ! I know your both watching now so kiss Mom and know we love and miss you both dearly. Rest in peace Dad!
Your son.......
