Eresdari Valentin Rios' Obituary
It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving mother and wife, Eresdari Rios Valentín, who passed away held by her family in hospice on Wednesday, January 14th. She was surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, strength, and unconditional kindness. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and all who knew her were touched by her warmth and generosity.
Eresdari grew up in Campo Alegre, Puerto Rico and spent most of her adult life in New York, and she and her husband Jose retired 25 years ago and moved to Spring Hill FL.
Eresdari and Jose welcomed a child into their home in 1967 and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to motherhood. Being a wife and mother was her greatest joy, and she expressed her love daily through her actions, sacrifices, and steadfast presence. Her family was the center of her world.
Eresdari was a hardworking and capable woman throughout her life. She worked as a dressmaker in sewing factories, stayed home while her husband worked 12 hours days as a taxi cab driver, and later worked alongside her husband in their liquor store, and went on to sell used cars while he operated an auto repair business. Her determination, resilience, and work ethic were admired by all who knew her.
At home, Eresdari created a life filled with warmth and joy. She was known for her wonderful Puerto Rican cooking, her sense of humor, and laughter. She enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, slots at the casinos, dancing, karaoke, gardening, knitting, spending time outdoors, and watching baseball.
Eresdari found immense joy in being a proud grandmother to her two grandchildren, Shannon and Aiden, whom she loved deeply and cared for with the same devotion she had always given her daughter.
She faced many health challenges with courage and grace, supported every step of the way by her husband and daughter. Her strength and faith carried her through countless recoveries, always meeting life with gratitude and quiet resilience.
Eresdari was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Pascuala Valentin, her brother Jesus Valentin Robles, and her sisters, DariLuz Valentín Robles, and Ana Lydia Valentín Robles
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 70 years, Jose Ramon Rios, their daughter, Jannet O’Leary, their son in law Kevin, and her two cherished grandchildren, Shannon (20), and Aiden (17), and her sisters Rosa Valentin Robles and Aida Valentín Robles.
Her legacy is love—steady, generous, and unconditional. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear mother, we love you forever.
