Ellen M. Bodenbach's Obituary
Ellen Custer, 95, of Port Richey, Florida passed away on December 8, 2012. She was born August 11, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois. She was a 40 year plus resident of Bayonet Point, living at Leisure Beach most of those years with my Father "Red" Custer. She was a tremendously fun lady, with a Bubbly Personality, always happy and eager to help others. She grew up in Chicago, having moved to Hollywood California for a couple of years around 1934. After moving back to Chicago she worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II at Wright Aircraft. Rosie was a World War II poster showing women in the work force. Ellen married Otis "Red" Custer in 1944.Later in life she also worked at the main office of Walgreen's and for a time at the old Sambo's Restaurant now the Village Inn Pancake House. She loved to Bowl and did so until age 85. She outlived her only Natural Son, Ronnie and is survived by Stepson Jim Custer. When she was young, she was once picked by Coca Cola as the pretty girl on a Swing at age 16. She was always a strikingly beautiful women and a meticulous dresser all of her life. She had been blessed with a wonderful and happy personality.
