Edward Joseph Calabro's Obituary
It is with deep regret that the family of Edward J Calabro, 85, of New Port Richey, Florida, announces his passing on Oct 30th. Ed was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Italian immigrants. He met his wife, Frances, as a teenager and married in 1953. Ed served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. They moved to Long Island and at 29 years old he joined the NYC Fire Department and was promoted to lieutenant. After 25 years with the department, he and Frances retired to Florida.
Ed enjoyed fishing and cooking and introduced seafood to his children. Many fish were filleted and crabs broken over the years. In addition to his culinary tastes, he enjoyed a good card game and playing golf. He even proudly managed a hole-in-one at the local golf course, twice.
Edward is pre-deceased by his wife Frances, and survived by his children Leslie, Jeffrey, Edward and Christian, his brother Arthur Calabro and grandchildren, Jesse, Stephanie, Joseph, Lane, Anne Marie, Nicholas and Catherine.
