Douglas Arthur Jonas' Obituary
Douglas Arthur Jonas, 80, of Hudson, FL. passed away at home while under the care of his Loving Family and HPH Hospice on Saturday, August 20, 2016. A native of Tampa, FL Mr. Jonas was a U.S. Army Veteran and a Protestant. He came to the Hudson area in 1992 after retiring as a licensed electrician. Doug was an avid R/C Airplane Pilot known by several in the area for spending his time building and flying his planes. His home became known as “Doug’s Hanger” to family and friends, where everyone came together to fly and visit. Doug was preceded in death by his daughter Kathryn Geering. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Doris Jonas; 6 children, Anita LeTourneau, Cheryl & Ronald Pelton, Deborah & Anthony Campbell, Bruce and Cathleen Jonas, Douglas Jonas, Jr & Kim Smith, and Allan Jonas; 11 grandchildren, Nicole & Justin St Pierre, Nicholas Vibbert, Jessica & Cody Harper, Jessica Campbell, Shelby Campbell, Darby Campbell, Serena Jonas, Arielle Jonas, Kristina Jonas, Kandice & Charles Claybaker, and Leighton Jonas; 6 great-grandchildren, Marek St Pierre, Matthieu St Pierre, Maddox St Pierre, Savannah Harper, Bristol Harper, and Loralei Carr; 1 cousin, Byron Havekotte and family; and his best friend who is like Doug’s brother, Don and Sharon Mathieson. A celebration of Doug’s Life will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 @ 11:00am at Grace Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to HPH Hospice http://www.hph-hospice.org/donations-special-gifts in memory of Doug.
