Dorothy Ann Mizrahi's Obituary
Dorothy Ann Mizrahi, affectionately known as Dottie, D.Ann, or simply Ma, a devoted mother of six, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026, at the age of 71. She is finally free from the chronic pain that has followed her for so many years. Her life was shaped by resilience and a stubborn strength that carried her through poor health, poverty, and every challenge that came with raising a large family on her own.
Her relationships with her children were as complex and deeply felt as the life she lived. Yet no matter the struggle, she never stopped showing up for them. Her six children were her purpose, her pride, and the constant thread that ran through every chapter of her story.
She was also unmistakably herself, with a fierce love of cigarettes that became one of her most enduring quirks. It was part of her rhythm, part of her personality, and one of the small truths that made her human and real.
In the end, the grief of her passing rests with her six children, who each carry their own history with her: the complicated bonds, the questions, the moments of closeness, and the distance that sometimes lived alongside it. She wasn’t affectionate in the traditional sense, and she didn’t always express love in ways the world might easily recognize, but her presence in their lives was constant and unmistakable.
She will be remembered for her persistence, her resilience, and the way she kept going even when life made it nearly impossible. Her story is woven into the lives of her children, who now hold both the weight of her absence and the truth of the life she lived.
Dorothy is survived by her six children: Danielle Dansby (Bradley), Michael Mizrahi (Danielle), April Cona (Michael), Mark Mizrahi (Sophia), Ashley Mizrahi, and Candace Mizrahi; her nine grandchildren: Layne Dansby, Zachary Dansby, Katelyn Mizrahi, Jerrick Mizrahi, Dominick Cona, Giselle Cona, Killian Mizrahi, Raiden Mizrahi, and Tyrion Mizrahi; and her two siblings, Steven Halloran and Laura White.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Ann LeMay; her father, Melvin LeMay; and two her siblings, Al LeMay and Michele LeMay.
