Donald Gray Payne's Obituary
Donald Gray Payne, 79, of Crystal River, FL passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013. Don was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina to Harry and Mildred Payne. Donald lived in Michigan with his family and former Wife Shirley Payne whom he was married to for 26 years. Don had traveled for work, living in several places including Atlanta and the Nashville area. Don retired and lived in Demopolis Alabama on a house boat. Moved to Panama City Beach Florida and has resided in Lake Rousseau RV Park near Crystal River Florida since 2006. Don was of the Christian faith and an Ironworker by trade. Don was a member of the Ironworkers Local 25 in Detroit MI. Don served in the US Army as a paratrooper in the 1st Airborne Battle Group, 501st Infantry. Additionally, Don was a member of the Masons and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and numerous friends. He is survived by his wife Joyce Payne; daughter Denise Payne Mosher; son Dale Payne (Pamela); niece, Beth and predeceased by his brother Harold on June 22, 2013 and his nephew Bill in 2010. Grandchildren: Alex, Connor, Danya, and Nicole. Great-granddaughter Alice. Joyce's children: Barbara, Bridgett, Chris, JJ, Loretta, and Robert; Joyce's fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. A memorial service with potluck will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lake Rousseau RV Resort recreation hall; Address: Lake Rousseau RV Resort, 10811 North Coveview Terrace, Crystal River, FL, 34428.
