Donald Brenham McKay III's Obituary
Donald Brenham McKay III, 83, passed away on December 23, 2025, at Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, Florida.
Born in Tampa, Florida on December 29, 1941, he was the son of the late John Angus McKay and Bernice McKay (née Wright). After graduating high school, he proudly served in the Marine Corps Reserve. He later pursued a career in law, graduating from Florida State College of Law and practicing for 49 years.
Donald was a lifelong outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing; He enjoyed nothing more than doing the same with family and loved ones. After retiring from practicing law, he found new joy in traveling the world with his love, Paula. He will always be remembered for being a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his three sons: Joseph Todd McKay (Edith Canfield McKay), Matthew Brenham McKay (Katie Leah McKay), and Thomas Duncan McKay (Alison Forbes McKay); his three granddaughters: Catherine Quinn McKay, Abby Wren McKay, and Catherine Bren McKay; his sister, Blair Ruppanner (Andy); nephews, Scott and Ryan; nieces, Paige and Resa; and his partner, Paula Routten.
He was predeceased by his brother, John and his sister, Joanna.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebrate of life service will be held for Donald on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 16931 U.S. Hwy 19 North, Hudson, FL 34667. Family and friends may gather from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a time to share memories and stories beginning at 12:00 pm.
