David J Schwartz's Obituary
David J. Schwartz, 89, of Hudson, Florida passed away peacefully at his home on May 4, 2022. He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on January 31, 1933 to Joseph M. and Ingrid (Erickson) Schwartz. He worked for the Anderson Corporation in Worcester.
Dave loved being outdoors and was an avid gardener. He was a fly fisherman and liked to make his own bamboo rods and flies. He was also a gifted athlete. Dave’s love of baseball started at an early age and continued during his time in the Army, where he played semi-pro on the All-Star team alongside future MLB players. Dave's father founded the Joe Schwartz Little League in Worcester where Dave was very involved as the lead umpire for the league as well as helping to maintain the fields. He also loved the game of golf his whole life. He was known to hit par well into his eighties and could hit a ball as both a lefty and a righty.
Dave leaves his wife of over 40 years, Catherine; son Michael Schwartz and his wife Karen of Seattle, Washington; daughter Debbi Beer and her husband Michael of East Brookfield, Massachusetts; grandchildren Sarah, Joseph, Grace, Emily, and Thomas; along with 11 great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Joseph, Paul and Andrew Schwartz predeceased him.
Funeral services are private at the convenience of the family.
