David W. Lumpkin's Obituary
David W. Lumpkin 65 passed away peacefully December 10, 2016. Memorial service will be Jan. 21, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Grace Memorial Funeral Home Hudson, Fl. David was born March 13, 1951 in Glendale, California to William T. Lumpkin and Violet Joan Lumpkin.
David met and fell in love with Linda and was married March 28 1980. she had 3 sons from a previous marriage, Rick 10, Pat 9 Rob 6. David adopted Pat when he was 12. That was a very proud moment for us all. David was a wonderful husband and father. We were all very blessed.
He was patient, funny, kind, and giving. Our 38 years together was beautiful. David had battled cancer for 22 years, along with many other medical problems. He had a strong will to live. He loved life! David love to fish and watch all sports, except basketball and golf. Our favorite place to go was Cedar Key Florida. It was our little piece of heaven away from home.
David was preceded by his parents William T and Violet Joan Lumpkin, his 2 stepmothers Edith Mae and Tambi. and his stepbrother Michael. Other survivors include 3 sisters Shirley Catron, Debra LaBee, and Suzanne Letner. 2 step sisters Linda and Judy, 2 stepbrothers Johnny and Billy, 2 half-sisters Kathy Kellogg and Tammy Lumpkin, 1 half-brother Danny Kellogg. 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 1 due in March. Many nieces and nephews. David has many cousins and 2 Aunts Aunt Edith Lumpkin and Christine Lumpkin, most live in south Georgia and some in Florida .He loved his family they all mean a lot to him and myself, there accepted just like family.
