David Michael Brischler's Obituary
David Michael Brischler Sr, 86, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at his residence in Hudson, Florida. He was the husband of Margaret Brischler. They shared 31 years of marriage together.
Born in Trenton, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Michael Brischler and Bertha Brischler (née Jankiewicz).
David honorably served in the United States Air Force for eight years. Following his military service, he devoted his career to public service as a police officer, state corrections lieutenant, and fire chief.
He was a member of the New Jersey State Policeman’s Benevolent Association, the Fraternal Order of Police Pasco Lodge 29 in Land O’Lakes, the Egypt Shriners in Tampa, and the Pearl of the West Masonic Lodge in New Port Richey.
An avid outdoorsman, David enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and scuba diving. He also had a love for tinkering with things which earned him the reputation of a "jack of all trades" because he could build just about anything.
He will be remembered for being a wonderful husband, a loving father, and an amazing grandfather.
David is survived by his wife, Margaret Brischler; his son, Kristopher S. Brischler (Corinne); his daughter-in-law, Mary Brischler; four grandchildren: Lindsey, Kristen, Timothy (Sadye), and Jeana; one great-granddaughter, Isabella and a great-grandchild expected in August; his brother, Michael Brischler (Roselynn); his sister, Dolores Gorman; his sister-in-law, Gloria Bodner Figueroa; his brother-in-law, Joseph Bodner; and his nieces and nephews: Franny, Taissy, Tommy, Jill, and Joey. He is predeceased by both of his parents; his son, David Michael Brischler Jr; and his daughter, Diane L. Brischler.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Grace Memorial Funeral Home with inurnment at Grace Memorial Gardens directly afterwards. Receiving of friends will be held from 12:30 PM to the time of the service.
