David Antonio's Obituary
David Antonio passed away on January 26, 2023 at the age of 72 after his courageous battle with ALS/Lou Gehrig's. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Antonio his daughters, Tabithaann Gregor (Shawn), Faith Antonio, Dawn M. Summo-Clement (Keith); sons Davidpaul Antonio (Emily Pettite) and Todd Gardner Antonio. Grandchildren; Bri Alexis, Ethan Antonio, Christien Antonio, Sarah Clement, Shelby Althouse (Austin), Halle Gardner, and his great grandchildren, Lura and Kanaan Althouse.
David is also survived by his siblings, Fahamisha Jaramogi (Sule), William (Lonnie) Antonio, Brook Antonio Sr., Peggi Antonio-Collier, Dwayne Antonio Sr (Zoila), and Penny Antonio; Michelle Meekins; Donald Antonio, Rose; and his cousins, nephews, nieces.
David is predeceased by his mother, Ann (2003); his father, David (2008); his brothers, Howard (1980), Eric (2013), Parrish (2015), and Robin Antonio (2018).
He was loved by many and lived every day with a humble, loving, and generous spirit. David spoke fondly of each and every person that he has met, especially with memories of his classmates from Patchogue HS, class of 1969.
David was with the Patchogue (NY) Fire Department Forty Thieves Racing Team where he was inducted into the Patchogue HS Hall of Fame also being the first black volunteer firefighter (Shield #1246).
David owned several businesses throughout the years, most notably, packaging & shipping stores located in Southampton, Riverhead, and Mattituck on Long Island, NY. David became the first black business owner in Southampton, breaking through many barriers to become an admired member of the community. He loved to spread his knowledge of Yahweh and brought peace and understanding to all those who have met him.
