Daniel Bertram Showalter's Obituary
Daniel (Dan) Bertram Showalter, 62, passed away on January 26, 2025. He was born in Chicago, IL. On August 5,1962, the son of the late William A. Showalter, Sr. and Carolyn A. Showalter (nee: Eagan).
Dan achieved his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Northeastern University in 1984. He was U.S. Post office Mail Carrier for Arlington Heights, Il., Elk Grove Village, IL. and Clearwater, FL.
Dan was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, in Trinity, FL. He had an interest in sports, particularly the Chicago White Sox. He attended their playoff and World Series games and celebrated their World Series Championship in 2005 with his family. Dan was also a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bears. Dan played on his Chicago High School, St. Patrick baseball team. Dan cared about his health and enjoyed weightlifting to keep in shape. Dan loved rock and roll, especially the Beatles. Dan had a great memory and acted as the family historian. Dan had a great sense of humor and was an awesome host when family members came to visit. Dan cherished spending time with his children DJ, Tangmo, and Jimmy.
Dan is survived by his sons, Daniel Jeremy (DJ) and James Charles (Jimmy), as well as his stepdaughter Tangmo. He was predeceased by his Mother Carolyn A., Stepmother Barbara A., Father William A., and Brother Charles A. Dan has five siblings, William A. (Deanne nee: Lammersfeld) Showalter, Jr., the late Charles A. (Rose nee: Birk) Showalter, Alicia M. (Matthew) Honnert, Edward A. (Eileen nee: Foss) Showalter, Frances A. (Larry) Evans. Dan is the God Father to Carolyn M. Held (nee: Showalter). Dan left behind seven nephews and three nieces. He leaves behind his Uncle Gordie Eagan and three cousins. He leaves behind two great cousins.
The Funeral Mass will be held on March 20, 2025 at 10:00 am at Saint Julian Eymard Catholic Church, 601 Biesterfield Road, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007. Phone number 847-979-0901.
