Cynthia Yarin's Obituary
Cynthia Yarin … daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend.
Cynthia was born in Brooklyn, New York. Although she will always be a “New Yorker”, her life with her husband Jack took her to Maryland, New Jersey, Connecticut and finally to Florida where she passed away peacefully on February 8, 2020 at the age of 84.
Cynthia was a proud woman. She was proud of her accomplishments at home, as a teacher, as an active member at Beth El Synagogue in East Windsor, NJ and in its Sisterhood and with her involvement with Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America. But what really defined Cynthia was her love, her care for others, her warmth, her compassion and her belief in family. She always put hers first. It was evident that she was at her most comfortable and content when she was with those she loved.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jacob Yarin; parents Sadie and Irving Roffman; and sisters Adele Silverman, Doris Cohen, and Joyce Moriber. She is survived by her daughters Lisa Alter, Stacey Garcia, and Joanne Yarin; grandchildren Ross Alter, Lindsay Alter, and Michael Yarin; and son-in-law Jason Alter.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the American Kidney Fund, or the American Diabetes Association.
