Connie Marie Eden's Obituary
Connie Marie Eden, 82, of New Port Richey, FL, returned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her during her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Connie was born in Milwaukee, WI and grew up in Belleville, IL. She attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where she received her B.S. and M.S. in Elementary Education. She was employed as a teacher in Iowa. She married Bill Eden in 1965; they moved to Florida in 1980 and founded Discount Glass Service.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Gladys Rigdon (nee McFarland) of Belleville, IL; brothers Gene Rigdon of Blue Bell, PA and Alan Rigdon of Trenton, IL.
She is survived by children Missy (Jeff) Osweiler of New Port Richey, FL and Joe (Jackie) Eden of New Port Richey, FL; grandchildren Miles Osweiler and Ella Osweiler; sisters Mary (Pat) Prindable of O'Fallon, IL and Debbie Rigdon of Sugar Grove, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Connie loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a special affection for animals and adopted many dogs and cats over the years. She played several instruments and passed her love of music to her children and grandchildren.
Private family services are pending with Grace Memorial Gardens, Hudson, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Suncoast Animal League 1030 Pennsylvania Ave., Palm Harbor, FL 34683 https://www.suncoastanimalleague.org.
