Dear Bryan and Family, please accept my prayers and condolences.
My grandfather--He gave me my first pocket knife. And he made me an Indian headdress (out of real feathers) and a guitar (out of an old cigar box). We made a remote controlled airplane together one summer. And he would give me the olives from his martinis when I was young and shared many more martinis with me when I was old. He never fathered a child but became the father to 2 stepdaughters. And from him I realized that there was more than one way to be a father. He taught me to shot a handgun and to always keep a bandaid in your wallet. The precision with the way he reloaded bullets is now seen in the way I fill chalices. He was never a Catholic but he was Christian through and through. He knew the Church and worshipped weekly. I will miss him the rest of my life and hope to spend a blessed eternity with him. (Olives optional.)
