Charles Hice's Obituary
Charles “Charlie” Hice, age 93, beloved father and grandfather passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, Florida, following a brief illness. Born on January 16, 1930 to Jessie and Walter Hice, he graduated from high school in Cincinnati and then joined the U.S. Navy. After his assignment with the Navy, he worked for the Dayton Daily News.
Charlie is predeceased by his parents; his wife, Margaret; daughter, Carib McCarley; grandson, Eddie Greenway; sisters Francis, Dorothy and Jessie; and brothers Eugene and Walter.
Survivors include his four sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin (Linda) Hice, Charles “Chet” Hice, Ray (Barbara) Hice, Parish Hice and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Charlie loved gardening, traveling and giving advice to teenagers. He will be remembered for his kind personality, quick-witted humor, determination and generous spirit.
Services are being provided by Grace Memorial Funeral Home, Hudson, Florida. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
