Charles Joesph "CJ" Donahue's Obituary
Charles Joseph “CJ” Donahue of Port Richey, FL was called into God’s arms following an unexpected heart attack on April 6, 2023, at the age of 42.
CJ is survived by his loving partner of 20+ years, Angela Swan, his children April (Donovan Lynch), Charles Joseph V “Charlie”, and Anna, along with granddaughter, Elora.
Born October 19, 1980, in Voorhees, NJ, CJ was the second of four children born to Charles & Anne Donahue. His light in his large family will live on in his sisters, Amy Steinbeck, Teresa (Joe) Gonzalez and his younger brother John (Melissa) Donahue. Other survivors include his many, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. He will be missed dearly and fondly remembered by all for his warm, friendly, and comical nature.
His deep passion for music was legendary, and when not sorting through dozens of CDs, CJ could be found at a local concert. When his beloved godmother and aunt, Margi Sirois Fess, passed a few years ago, he stepped right in and filled her shoes as the official music playlist creator.
CJ was the life of every party and his song choices were famous (or infamous, depending on who you asked). Angela and CJ built a life filled with love and adventure. He enjoyed their family vacations that included camping, swimming, hiking and fishing. CJ was also an avid Tampa Bay sports fan and spent countless hours cheering on the local teams, from the Buccaneers, to the Lightning and the Rays.
CJ was an electrician by trade, but fancied himself as an independent business man who hated time clocks. He worked at a variety of business ventures over the years but his favorite job was dad. CJ was over the moon enjoying his recently attained status as a grandfather with the birth of Ellie on March 26th.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Friday, April 14th, 2023 at Grace Memorial Gardens in Hudson. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in CJ’s memory to The Angelus 12413 Hudson Ave. Hudson, FL 34669 https://theangelus.com/donate
