Nashua- Brendon Francis Murphy, a longtime Nashua resident, died peacefully in his sleep Thursday, July 21, 2022 at his Hudson, Florida home. He was the husband of Diane (Sunny) Murphy with whom he married on January 11, 1964. They were lovingly married for 58 years and enjoyed a lifetime of friendship and cherished memories.
Brendon Francis Murphy was born in Lowell, MA, the late son of John Murphy and Margaret (Kelly) Murphy. He received his education in the Lowell school systems, LHS class of 1960. He was a member and past President of the Westford Jaycees and a longtime member of the Nashua Lodge of Elks. Brendon was known for his outgoing personality and his over the top sense of humor. One of his favorite things was to make people laugh and engage anyone who would join him. He was an avid golfer known for his colorful golf attire and temperament on the courses that he so loved. He owned his own barber shop before working for Metropolitan Insurance Company until his retirement in 2001. Brendon also enjoyed skiing, dancing as well as watching his favorites sports teams, the Boston Celtics, the Red Sox, and the Patriots.
Besides his wife Diane (Sunny) Murphy, Brendon is survived by his children, Brendon J. Murphy (Jim) and his wife Terri Murphy of Londonderry, N.H., Shaun P. Murphy and Jen Smith of Merrimack, N.H., David E. Murphy and Susan Higgins of Mont Vernon, N.H., his grandson Joseph Jackson of Salem, N.H., his granddaughters Jessica Higgins of Exeter, N.H., Molly Higgins of Milford, N.H, and two great grandchildren Lou Higgins and Noah Smetana. Brendon also leaves behind several nephews and nieces that he loved spending time with as well as the countless friends he made on the way.
Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2022 at Grace Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, Hudson FL. There will be a gathering for family and friends from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour on Monday. A celebration of life will also take place in Nashua, N.H. following that date.
